Astounding tended to be more serious and have more real science in it (although editor John W. Campbell was also obsessed with sci-powers) and Bradbury was one of the few significant figures of that era who never published in Analog, so maybe the Planet Stories and the other magazines he was publishing in trended somewhat more juvenile. Looking at the issues that had Martian Chronicles stories in them from Internet Speculative Fiction Database, I'm seeing authors I know, but not stories I know.
