"Propaganda" is probably the 2nd best Sparks album after "Kimono" but it's been even longer since I've listened to them- got sick of them pretty quickly.
And I barely remember "Lodger" at all- never been one of my favorite Bowie albums but kinda reminds me of early vocal Eno and TBH I'd generally rather listen to that stuff.
And yeah I was around 12 years old when I first read "Martian Chronicles" and like I said, it was my favorite book for awhile after that so that seems like the ideal age. And "Fahrenheit" is clearly more mature and serious in terms of both content and tone.
I mean, it doesn't really matter whether you enjoy "Beavis & Butthead" or "The Martian Chronicles" but it's unfortunate when it seems like the main reason is that you're simply too much of a grumpy old coot to enjoy them. You think you'd love both "Animal House" and "Dazed & Confused" if you watched them for the first time today? Yeah I'm a nostalgic dude too but I always at least try to appreciate things on their own terms with the target audience in mind.
