"Seamus" isn't nearly has detestable a dog song as Dogs of War, I think people just find it to be dumb filler. It's 2:15 long. "Despised" is probably too harsh a word. I think it's probably mostly regarded as mediocre-to-bad, but ultimately harmless. They did include it in Live at Pompeii, but I guess that was the only performance.

Eeh, I've definitely seen plenty of people on this board saying that they think the songs that would never exist without the concept are all disposable and it should have been a single album. If people like most of the album and dislike one of the major songs, it's probably The Trial. That one is probably the litmus test for whether you're really on board with the project or not.
