The first rock concert I ever went to was the In The Flesh tour. I was a sophomore in high school and went with the other guys in my band, who were seniors and who I thought were much more worldly than me. They said we could go late because there'd be openers, but they overestimated how long that would take - so I remember arriving at Madison Square Garden, heading towards our seats, and then somebody saying "Shit, he's playing Dogs!" and then us all running in. I think there are exactly three pretty good songs from his first several solo albums: Every Stranger's Eyes, The Moment of Clarity, and The Tide Is Turning (After Live Aid), which is kind of moving in its misplaced (and rare for Waters) optimism.
