Music Babble

I went to see Please Baby Please the other night, Andrea Riseborough is very entertaining and everyone looks great but the movie has basically nothing to say. It's obviously about gender and sexuality but just throws some extremely obvious scenes of people struggling with those issues at the audience and goes nowhere with any of it. Still worth putting on if you've got something else to do though. Dana Ashbrook (Bobby from Twin Peaks) turns up, first time I'd seen him anywhere else.

Also recently rewatched Kiss Me Deadly in the theater, always a good time. Planning to go see Fantasy Mission Force tomorrow, the movie that Jackie Chan had to appear in to settle a debt with Hong Kong triads.

Watched at home:
Lake Mungo - very sad Australian ghost movie, has one genuinely frightening moment but is otherwise a well-made bummer of a movie.

One Week (Buster Keaton) - lots o laffs

Children of the Corn - kinda sucks! Linda Hamilton gets nothing to do.

Goodfellas (rewatch) - good movie

The Long Good Friday (re-watch) - kicks ass

Fascination - getting killed by a naked scythe-wielding Brigitte Lahaie seems like an ok way to go out all things considered.
