Reading the book I never would have thought to cast Adam Driver, but he's a pretty solid actor. Of course, DeLillo probably isn't terribly filmable to begin with, as Cronenberg found out a few years back!!!
The reason you've probably never seen Dana Ashbrook outside of Twin Peaks is that he's the worst actor on the show, and I'm not forgetting Robin Lively or the British kid from season 3.
