Also, I noticed Black Cat, White Cat in the theater listings which was very confusing. So I went to check it out and it started with the programmer giving an apology for Kusturica's nationalist tendencies. Probably not necessary for the ten people who actually showed up to watch it, but whatever. And I would bet money that they were projecting the same .avi file I downloaded off eMule 15 years ago when I first saw it. Anyways great flick!
The best thing I've seen recently is The Last Flight, a 1931 pre-Code film about a group of WWI survivors bouncing around Europe and drinking as much as they can. It suffers from some early-Talkie woodenness, but overall it's charming and ironic in the right ways.
