Yeah, I found the third step hard but the fourth (moral inventory) was impossible because I held a lot back when going through it with my sponsor. That was as far as I ever got in AA. Totally misread your sentence about drinking champagne about a year after getting sober, thinking you drank it (were offered it) while celebrating your one-year anniversary. That would have been quite interesting. I've had some communion wine and some weed tincture since getting sober but I don't consider either a relapse, especially as I never even thought about alcohol afterwards. Still probably too close for comfort to ever do again.
To change the subject totally, I'm buying some ganja today. These last four weeks have been encouraging if I ever do plan to quit, because I'm feeling totally good and normal four weeks later, and I could probably go another four if I really had to, no sweat. I might apply for a medical marijuana certification soon so I couldn't get in trouble with apartment management if somebody complained (people probably already have and the office has just turned a blind eye). The fees are pretty steep, though: about $100 just for the consultation, but these places are just glorified prescription mills so I should breeze through it. There's no list of specific diagnoses, or any diagnosis period, in Virginia. I don't feel comfortable (especially not here) talking about the specific complaint, but this should make things considerably easier, especially if my grey-market DC reefer delivery service is shut down, as there's a MMJ dispensary just a couple miles away, and on a bus line, too.
Do you have any experience with medical? I know some people here, if they haven't left the board, have.
