I wouldn't have thought that, but looking at the 2012 votes, your right. Wall-E got 8 votes in the critics poll, although none in the directors. Looking at the most obvious Disney classics, they generally got 1 or 2 votes. Surprised Dumbo didn't even get one. I could live with Wall-E or a Toy Story movie, but it's surprising to me that the critics would have an aesthetic preference for Pixar animation over the best Disney animation. I know the old Disney movies get some shit now for being morally simplistic or sexists or racist, but Fantasia (aside from the racist bit they cut out) isn't too "problematic," is it?
Fury Road would stick out like a sore thumb on that list. The only violent popcorn blockbuster is Jaws. The first two Mad Max movies each only got one vote in 2012. And do people actually think Fury Road is better than The Road Warrior? I know that alot of younger people probably saw it Fury Road before the earlier movies, and in its historical context it represented a kind of action filmmaking that isn't really done anymore. Well, soon we'll see which one got more votes.
