but it sure seems like the 2nd statement is willfully ignorant and misleading, especially the "I don't have any connection or affiliation with it" part. Him being raised as a scientologist by a man who practiced it for 35 years means he definitely *does* have a connection/affiliation with it, regardless of whether he still practices it.

I mostly just see it as Beck being a pussy and trying to rewrite history instead of simply stating that "Yes, I was raised with this bullshit and practiced it for many years but haven't done so since...." etc.
