Lately I heard some Christmas songs Ive liked and tried to make a playlist. Kind of tired of the overplayed ones so I'm thinking of good ones Im not sick of. Christmas Wrapping - Waitresses and
Winter Wonderland - Cocteau Twins are ones I'm liking a lot this year. And I don't get tired of "Father Christmas" by the Kinks. I actually quite liked what I've heard of that Jethro Tull Christmas. Also heard Aqualung and Thick as a Brick recently which seems to go nicely with late night driving in December.
OutKast - Love Below. Recently heard this after a long time, maybe like 10 years. It is an interesting unique album with a varied sound of different genres besides the obvious hip hop or R&B influences but also jazz, synth pop, funk (or specifically Prince), and folk that make this a fun catchy listen. Maybe a bit weaker songwriting than I remember and it gets a lot more tedious towards the end, but it's still a great album. Haven't really heard Speakerboxxx much over the years and I should get on that.
"Skankonia" has some good bangers as well. "I'll call b4 I come" is a great deep cut on there.
Came across a killer Phish song on their album Farmhouse called "First Tube". Guess I do like their jamming and might have to listen to them more. I like "Reba" a lot too. My ex girlfriend was a huge fan and I got some of this stuff stuck in my brain.
