Since I can't think of any non-2022 albums I've played recently, here's the semi-arbitrarily ordered list of top 2022 albums I posted a few days ago with brief commentary:
Jockstrap - I Love You Jennifer B. Glitchy pop but with some depth and scope to it.
SAULT - Earth
SAULT - 11. This R&B/neosoulish anonymous outfit put out five or so albums this year, none of which are bad. I think these two were the best.
One More Grain - Beans on Toast with Pythagoras. Kind of like a more organic-seeming The Fall, but occasionally reminds me of spacey jazz.
Let's Eat Grandma - Two Ribbons. This is a little more straight-ahead than their weird prior releases, but it's a solid synthy pop album.
caroline - caroline. A cool hodgepodge of folk, post-rock, classical, other stuff.
Sudan Archives - Natural Brown Prom Queen. R&B-adjacent, cool.
Gwenno - Tresor. Ex-Pipettes member does Cornish-language dreampop.
Little Simz - No Thank You. One of the few (maybe the only?) rappers I go out of my way to keep up with. Only played this once but it's solid.
Richard Dawson - The Ruby Cord. Weirdo folky.
Carly Rae Jepsen - The Loneliest Time. Inconsistent but has several very good songs.
Jenny Hval - Classic Objects. A little too nondistinct to rank among her best work, but still nice.
Cate le Bon - Pompeii. Only played this once and found it pleasant.
The Soft Pink Truth - Is It Going To Get Any Deeper Than This? Retro-housey dance music, good grooves.
Destroyer - Labyrinthitis. I think I like this more than his last couple albums.
Grace Ives - Janky Star. Another glitchy pop thing.
Julmud - Tuqoos. Palestinian rapper/producer, an interesting fusion of what I think of as Middle Eastern music with Western styles.
Wojciech Rusin - Syphon. Sort of neo-medieval with some odd touches, I can't remember this one that well to be honest.
Saba - Few Good Things. Decent rap.
More Eaze/Claire Rousay - Never Stop Texting Me. Another glitchy pop thing!
Porridge Radio - Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky. Indie rockish, fine.
Confidence Man - Tilt. Dancey, fun.
Angeline Morrison - The Sorrow Songs (Folk Songs of Black British Experience). Cool traditional-sounding folk songs - it's a high-concept post-historicist thing but the songs are also just pretty with nice arrangements.
SAULT - Today & Tomorrow
SAULT - Air. I think I liked these two less than their other two but they were still good and I wanted to get to 25
And here's an even more arbitrary list of top songs I made if anyone cares
