Was very briefly on Tinder but didn't use it. Seemed mostly geared towards casual hookups which wasn't what I was looking for. Similarly gave up on Bumble pretty quickly. OK Cupid and Hinge are the apps I was most successful with, especially the latter. The main selling point is that you can view people's profiles and interact without having to "like" each other- it also functions like social media where you post photos with captions in addition to your answers to quirky survey questions and can just respond to someone's photos without "liking" them.
Most apps do creepy shit like ask you for money in. order to see the profile of women who "like" you- who the #### would do that? I guess the apps gotta make money somehow but it seems like if there are costs, they should be upfront about it.
I mean, if you're just interested in getting laid, I'm sure Tinder is fine or maybe even the best option. But Hinge is what I'd recommend to anyone looking for an actual relationship.
Oh and re: Soul Coughing, yes it's the one with "Sugar-Free Jazz". Was my first exposure to them and yeah it's like the Chili Peppers meets slam poetry and just as ridiculous as that sounds but it was fairly engaging and I appreciated the 90s-ness of the sound.
