Yeah, Tinder charges for the app to be of much use at all, but I don't mind. If they didn't have some sort of paywall it'd be inundated with bots and fake profiles and scammers. Not that they aren't already there, but it would go from being a nuisance, as it is now, to being unusable. Not sure how well those free sites would work. Also if you're paying, there are more active users and much fewer zombie profiles. So I really don't mind -- it's like running a credit check when renting an apartment.
(I said the situation with me and the lady was tenuous, but we're getting on well now. When she went to bed the first night she said we'd talk again the next day but we never did -- turned out she was exhausted from work and passed out before she could do anything. Hard not to feel stood up at the time, not knowing that, but it was nothing.)
