If I were handing out George scores, all post-Quadrophenia Who albums would get an 8 or 9 out of fifteen. I was expecting Who Are You to be better than it was andIt's Hard to be worse but it wasn't really.
This is because The Who were pretty much sonically set after Who's Next. As far as I'm concerned they made few if any changes to their stadium rock sound from 1971 onwards. With all albums I hoarded three or four good songs and the rest are a blur.
"Memo From Turner" got brought up in reviews a lot but I didn't get much out of it.
I'm gonna pass on solo Pete for now.
