Always assumed that there's folks in all age groups on all the most popular apps but regardless of age, it sounds like people mostly use Tinder for casual dating and a FWB situation as you call it definitely qualifies. As I'm sure you are aware, online dating has made "poly" more mainstream and folks aren't always 100% forthcoming re: where they fall on that particular spectrum so something to keep in mind (though if you want a FWB maybe it doesn't really matter).
You've got a point re: paying for the apps and hey let's face it, dudes typically wind up "paying for it" in one way or another amirite fellas?
"I said the situation with me and the lady was tenuous, but we're getting on well now. When she went to bed the first night she said we'd talk again the next day but we never did -- turned out she was exhausted from work and passed out before she could do anything. Hard not to feel stood up at the time, not knowing that, but it was nothing."
My main piece of advice from my online dating experience is go in with as few expectations as possible, especially when first communicating with someone new. People will ghost you, submarining in some cases or just drop of the face of the earth. Sometimes these will be people that you felt you hit it off with. Best to learn not to take it personally or try to figure out what happened- comes with the territory so just keep at it and let the algorithm do its thing.
