Hmm, interesting Dire Straits opinions, basically everyone else thinks that the first side of Making Movies is the best work of their career and the second side is forgettable-to-bad. I think a lot of the second side is fine but I really loved "Skateaway" as a kid and "Romeo and Juliet" is a really nice corny song.

I listened to about half of Communique recently, and yeah, boring but nice. I think On Every Street is pretty dull but I find "When it Comes to You" a very appealing JJ Cale song.

Phosphorescent - Muchacho (I still think this guy is just pretending to be a tortured ####-up in order to get lots of pussy from girls wearing turquoise jewelry but he's got some nice tunes)
King Gizzard etc - Ice, Planets, etc & Laminated Denim (I liked Laminated Denim a lot, i don't think I'll ever become a huge devotee of this band but they're pretty consistently good when I check out a couple of the five new albums they put out each year)

Aerosmith - Rocks (man I love "Combination")

Bob Dylan - Tempest (first half of this is pretty great imo)

Viagra Boys - Common Sense EP (I like how the title track where the singer castigates himself for the grim consequences of his drug abuse is followed by "Lick the Bag")
