That movie being rated G is a far goofier MPAA blooper than ANY of the classic PGs that went to gory summer blockbusters like Jaws and Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Not to mention the idea that any kids would be interested in sitting through that film to begin with.

The town full of dead people has, like, zero emotional resonance whatsoever. I mean, it's an eerie plot setup and all, but there's no sign of anyone on screen being the least bit sad that scientific advancement destroyed an entire town in New Mexico. Like "yeah, let's burn the place, f*** it."
