The only Asian Extreme films I watched were Ichi The Killer (amusingly f***ed up in spots), Audition (boring as hell except for the two famous jump scares), and Oldboy (decently memorable). I haven't really ever rewatched any of them--I've been piss poor in the last decade about keeping up with global cinema, actually watching it instead of just reading about the response to it.
Has anyone here ever seen The Isle, directed by Kim Ki-duk and from 2000? Featuring infamously painful scenes involving fish hooks? I don't recall it ever being discussed here, and this is a place where whenever there was a new "I dare you to watch this OMG OMG OMG" film like Irreversible or Antichrist we used to discuss it.
