I didn't start this thread, but you might find the film Iodo/Io Island interesting - it screened a few years ago at the amazing theater in my neighborhood. Made in Korea in the late 70s, has a pastoral mystery Wicker Man vibe that builds towards a ritual scene that is genuinely difficult to watch.
