Apparently they've never heard of "Messrs.". That sentence seemed goofy just from sheer proliferation of misters. ("Mister" is a hard word to work with in writing because it doesn't quite fit in anywhere, with any parts of speech. That's traditionally where grammarians would call it a particle, I guess.)
