In the order that I thought of them -- roughly chronological. I ain't ranking them. I miss Trung.) Anonymous (dude wrote some amazing stuff) Geoffrey Chaucer Virgil/Vergil (2000 years later we still can't decide how to spell the dude's name. This is Gaddhafi-level stuff) Ovid Horace Aristophanes Homer Shakespeare Pope Milton Blake Cowper Wordsworth Keats Shelley Byron Housman Coleridge Yeats Ogden Nash Uh thinking is hard right now. Most of these I haven't read in some instances since they were assigned in a class. I've forgotten a lot from that class but I do know I didn't really care for Tennyson. Only included what I've read in the original.
