Haha, I meant "beat" in a musical sense. I read On the Road in high school and thought it was overrated, but pretended to like it. Also I've memorized a line from Naked Lunch from when I tried to read it in 10th grade:
A coprophage calls for a plate, shits on it, and eats the shit, exclaiming, "mmm, that's my rich substance!"
That's about all I know about the beats and don't really care to know much more tbh. They were a lot cooler than hippies though.
