One of the cops was a woman and when I say her I said "Heeeeyyyy!" in a flirtatious tone and she angrily responded with "Don't talk like that to me- I'm a police officer!". I apologized and answered their questions and they waited for an ambulance to pick me up and take me to general hospital. On the way, I cracked up the EMTs by singing Zeppelin songs in a Robert Plant voice. When I got to general, they left me on a gurney in the hallway and after a few minutes, I simply walked out and all the way to my parents house. Luckily neither of my parents saw me (maybe they weren't home?) and I took a shower to wash off the blood- my face looked horrific and I'm sure I terrorized a few people on my way home. A few weeks later my parents got a $1000 ambulance bill.
IIRC Steel Reserve was the highest potency 40. It tasted awful so I'd only get it if I was desperate and/or low on funds and had to get the most bang for my buck. But both St. Ides and Old E were up there too. Towards the end my favorite malt liquor wound up being Colt 45- strong enough to do the job but mild enough to be at least somewhat refreshing.
