I thought the debut was supposed to be a better album than Deja Vu. Maybe boomers who were there at the time liked Deja Vu more, but I feel like I've always heard more praise for the debut, and I think it aged better.

Weirdly, I think the debut was more indicitave of the direction rock was heading in in the next few years. Deja Vu was pretty late for something that hippie dippy.
