Music Babble

I liked Everything a lot. It's a very maximalist and purposefully bonkers movie, but with a solid (if a little trite) emotional core. Don't know if it would hold up on a second viewing but it's well worth watching.

Only other best picture nom I saw was The Banshees of Inishiren, which I liked. Will probably see TAR at some point, may see The Fabelmans. Don't have much interest in the rest:

All Quiet On The Western Front - reading the book in high school was sufficient for me
Avatar sequel - was indifferent to the first
Elvis - I avoid biopics
Top Gun sequel - I know a lot of people with generally good taste like this, and I've watched plenty of recentish Tom Cruise movies, but for some reason this one just seems unpalatable to me (I also never saw the first)
Triangle Of Sadness - I hated the director's previous movie, Force Majeure
Women Talking - my partner liked the book so I'll probably read that at some point instead
