So do you generally not care for the "Banquet"-"Exile" albums?

I mean, take something like "Gimme Shelter", which is probably their best song IMO. It's not exactly a blues song but built on a fairly bluesy chord progression (I play it incorrectly in standard tuning using C#, B and A) and I wouldn't really call it a "pop" song either and that goes for most of the other songs on that run of classic albums, as all of the material seems to be mostly informed by blues and/or country.
