It was a friend at school who sent "Children Of The Damned" to me via ICQ--I received lots of mp3s via ICQ via guys at old message boards from the 90s that I hooked up with, but those were mostly prog and classic rock and this guy was a metalhead from school. I periodically saw kids wearing Iron Maiden T-shirts and the Bill & Ted movies ("put them in the Iron Maiden." B&T: "Iron MAIDEN?!?") were big here too.
