I admit I am a little biased when it comes to Iron Maiden. I loved heavy metal in my younger days, and still enjoy old-school/nostalgic stuff like that. If they are denied again I would not be surprised.
Joy Division/New Order: I am not very familiar with them, but what I have heard bores me to tears. I am in the camp that thinks contemporaries of theirs like the Jam and XTC are better. But they don't have a chance, especially the latter.
Cindi Lauper: Enjoy the hits but she doesn't deserve to get in. For what it's worth, the Eurythmics got in last year (I do like some Annie Lennox solo albums.)
Rage Against the Machine: I like the first album and a few other hits. But you are right, they had a short career and influenced a lot of bad music. I think it is too early for them.
Soundgarden: Oh my God they are way overdue!
The White Stripes: I wouldn't be surprised if they got in early, but it would be a disappointment/waste. They are actually kinda lame.
Warren Zevon: I'll be honest. I just have "Excitable Boy," and I think it is a terrific album. And I would like to see him get in. But I admit I should try listening to more of his music.
