Re: I'm not really a Python fan either
I've always liked Monty Python's Flying Circus but it seems that the movies are what most people know of the franchise and they're iffy at best, especially Holy Grail. I rewatched that after some years and I actually liked it and a lot of parts were good, but Jesus, the fans do it no favors by quoting it endlessly and so on. Meaning of Life is most like Flying Circus and, hardly coincidentally, is the best. Plus there are lots of tits in it and I was like 14 or 15 when I first saw it. But if I never again heard of the Spam sketch, the Dead Parrot sketch, any dialogue from Holy Grail... It's kind of like the Jeebus episode of The Simpsons, which was never funny and has been quoted for literally decades. I do like the show. I wouldn't call it an acquired taste, but rather something you either like or you don't.
