Gawd it is so bad to think of all the cool stuff Visconti was working with in the 70s (Bowie, Gentle Giant, T. Rex) and then think he was responsible for Sur La Mer by the Moody Blues.
I would have raved about pretty much any Waits album 15 years ago, Mule Variations but that's because I hadn't yet picked up on how often he rewrote himself.
The next big album I'm going to look at for the first time in ages is Yo La Tengo's I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass.
