Guess I'd better bust out "Speak No Evil" in tribute

DEAD"
Been awhile since I've heard it but it's rightly considered by most to be Shorter's best album (definitely helps that he's got Hubbard, Hancock, Jones and Carter backing him up). Though his best playing is probably featured on the many Miles Davis albums he appeared on, particularly "Miles Smiles", "Nefertiti" and "Live at the Fillmore East, March 7, 1970: It's About that Time" (yeah he's also on "Bitches Brew" which is my favorite Miles but I think of that album's more about the ensemble than individual soloists). Anyway, I've never loved Shorter as much as most jazz fans seem to (his playing is often a bit busy for my taste) but it's undeniable that he had impressive chops and played on a bunch of classics by a pretty wide variety of performers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Shorter_discography
