Never been a huge Jazz Messengers fan (they had 2 different albums called "A Night in Tunisia"? those ####ers) but Shorter plays on the 2 best albums of theirs I've heard ("Mosaic" and "Free For All") and has a lot to do with the albums' success (although Hubbard deserves a lot of credit as well). Also not much of a Weather Report fan but their early albums had their moments.
Shorter also played on 2 of my favorite McCoy Tyner albums: "Expansions" and "Extensions". Might have to revisit those as well.
