Music Babble

I like Everything Everywhere. I understand Norville's objections, and it's probably been overpraised at this point (I saw it relatively early in its run, which maybe helped in my enjoyment). But it's goofy fun, with enough grounding to make the emotional content land, somewhat generic though it may be.

I haven't seen most of the other winners so can't really comment. RRR got old for me long before the ending, but the song it won for is fun enough. I read the book of Women Talking which didn't grab me.

The Whale sounded unbearable, and Aronofksy is probably more misses than hits for me, so I didn't bother seeing it. I though Aftersun's Paul Mescal and Banshees' Colin Farrell both gave great performances in that category, for what it's worth.
