The first one is obviously the best- reminds me a bit of Jorge Ben's "Africa Brasil"- but 2 sequels are worth listens as well, if a bit more in the harder-edged, more accessible funk vein as opposed to the mellower, more mystical original (no comment re: the brainwashed propaganda/cult aspect of the lyrics since I don't speak the language).
And yeah MPB is pretty ideal stoned listening in general- some of the best production and lushest arrangements I've ever heard, nice funky grooves, unusual jazzy rhythms etc. Especially on hot days- now that the weather's finally getting warmer around here, you can bet your ass I'm gonna be spinning a ton of Brazilian shit.
