Glad you like Mingus Ah Um so much. It was one of the first jazz albums I bought (literally -- part of the inaugural batch) and was the first I latched on to, for sure, and probably still is my favorite jazz album. You can go back to it after you've explored jazz more and appreciate it more/see how the influences show). Of course it's not one of your first jazz records, haha
