if there's anywhere online where you can read fanzine reviews of the early seasons that capture fan reactions at the time. I'm sure that those existed, given Star Trek fandom. I'm familiar with Tim Lynch's usenet reviews, which is the earliest internet pop culture thing from anywhere that I'm personally acquainted with

but those start in the middle of season 2.

I'd like to see what people thought of Justice and Angel One when they were new. I'd also like to see what people thought of Contagion, the season 2 episode where The Enterprise downloads an update for a different operating system, almost gets destroyed, and then saves itself by restoring the computer to an early state, which they only thought of because Data's system does it automatically when he gets infected (am I remembering it right?). That episode is dramatically solid (from what I remember), but it's pretty funny to think that this was cutting edge SF at the time, and now it's just a story about 1,000 people who don't have basic computer skills.
