One thing I never bother to do is find both the compass and map in Ganon's Tower. I know I've done it, but they're hidden in the basement, which is confusing, and the rest of the tower is really straightforward, so there's no real reason to want them. Once you have the key you can leave.
I like the Ice Rod more than the Fire Rod because you can smash enemies and get a magic decanter, and it's just funny to pick them up and throw them around.
Super Metroid was always my favorite consul game, with LTtP at #2, but when I replayed them a few years ago I found that I enjoyed Zelda more.
The first time I played through it I remember not being able to find the entrance to Skull Woods/the Village of Outcasts, and had to find the one spot where you can hookshot across the river to get there.
That Moth boss is the hardest boss.
Here's a weird piece of trivia: One of my friends is into programing & hacking old games, and he said that the Statue Sentries, Blind and similar enemies aid at you by sending out an invisible, invincible "soldier" that runs at you and tries to stand on you, and the enemies shoot at that.
