I've only plagued one roguelike, Castle of the Winds, downloaded shareware from AOL back in the 2.5 era. I remember playing the shit out of it (and Dare to Dream, a point-and-click adventure game, but I eventually got stuck) and really ought to explore the genre further. Looking at a list of roguelike games, they all seem to be little-known unless you count Diablo. Oddly Rogue itself seems to be unavailable on modern sites.
