Sound of Confusion is primitive and all but one or two tracks is a cover or a near-cover ripoff, but it's amazing what you can do with extremely loud guitars playing the same one or two chords over and over again for five-plus minutes. It's better than it might sound! Underrated for sure.
The Perfect Prescription is indeed damn near perfect. Recurring is basically a solo Sonic Boom side and a solo Jason Pierce side. They were no longer working together or speaking to each other at this point and I think the album was released postmortem. I really like it though. Good quasi-synth-pop on side one, basically proto-Spiritualized on the second.
Their live stuff is good but not worth going out of your way for.
