And yeah though Cage had already delivered some goofy performances in smaller films, “Face/Off” pretty much marks the beginning of him being distractingly OTT in a blockbuster and mostly getting away with it.
How is the world sick of Cage? He’s arguably more of an icon than he’s ever been. Still makes tons of movies, both arthouse and blockbuster, most of which are successful. There was also that recent meta movie where he plays himself (didn’t see it but think it did well and got good reviews)
