93.Maridia - Super Metroid - This is the only game I can beat without dying, so it's hard to agree with picking anything from it, but for a long time I only beat the boss using a cheap trick. It's more confusing than Norfair, but are the fights harder? It's hard for me to gauge at this point, but I think "no."
37.Great Palace - Zelda II- I just played this for the first time about 6 months ago, and posted about it. This is hard, but it mostly deserves to be on here because it's so huge and so much of it is unnecessary. I thought Dark Link was easy though.
33.Lightning Lookout - DK Country 3 - I remember playing this but don't remember how hard it was. I'd have an easier time picking the hardest levels on 2. Probably Slime Clime.
20.Dam
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1989; NES) - This is hard, but it's early enough in the game to practice and get good at. I got stuck on the stuff that comes after it. I think the Dam is on here because so many people played the game when they were so young, and barely made it further than this.
19.Stage 1
Donkey Kong (1981; Arcade, Atari, GameBoy, NES) - Sure
9.Alien’s Lair
Contra (1987; Arcade, NES) - I've only beaten it with 30 lives, which is easy. I haven't played it much without the code, and only made it half-way playing fair.
Of games I've beaten, I don't see how they could have something from Super Metroid and not the original Metroid, and nothing from Castlevania 1 or 3???
Surprised nothing from The Ultimate Doom: Thy Flesh Consumed, or the Doom II expansions made the list.
Super Empire Strikes Back should be on that. That game on the medium difficulty is probably the hardest game I've beaten. I never finished it on "Jedi." this isn't the level I got stuck on, but it's the most prima-facia ridiculous:
Is there a level of anything ever where your sprite takes up more of the screen?
