The only good one that comes to mind is Jennifer Egan's A Visit From The Goon Squad, which is a bunch of interconnected stories - the two most central characters are a record company executive (and former member of a punk band) and his assistant.
I think I've found most fiction around rock/pop musicians somewhat awkward, especially when it comes to actually describing their music. But maybe there's at least another good example I'll remember.
