Music Babble

Am surprised by how hard it's hitting me. Gonna have to bump "Getz/Gilberto" in tribute. The album is to Brazilian music what "Kind of Blue" is to jazz in that its reputation is a double edged sword but if you can set that aside, it still holds up as a classic.

For further listening, Astrud's first couple of albums are pretty good, as is 69's "I Haven't Got Anything Better To Do" (2 tunes on there that Nilsson fans should be able to recognize) and she also did a few nice live sets with Joao and Stan, of which '64's "Getz Au Go Go" is my favorite.
