Go 2 - don't remember this one much at all. Never heard it that much. I thought the cover was pretty funny. Wasn't it by Hipnosis? I like a lot of their covers.
Drums and Wires is great though. One of my favorites of theirs. Helicopter, When You're Near Me and Scissor Man are some of my fave XTC tunes
My spins:
Genesis - Trespass (haven't heard this one in years but I love how comfy and pastoral it is. Some varying things that are charming like the beautiful multiple layered 12 string guitars, Peters soulful vocals on Looking For Someone, the harmonies on some songs, and the kick ass interplay on The Knife. The latter and Stagnation are the best, and Looking For Someone has a good enough soul pop sound for radio. Possibly could have been a single)
Also Foxtrot and Selling England. Suppers Ready still holds up as a brilliant side long I think. I remember people cumming their pants to this song back in the day here at babble, but it is still an amazingly put together and beautiful piece. Only a few goofy parts which are lame but at the same time I enjoy hearing and smile at some of these goofy dorky prog tropes sometimes.
Selling England is very dense and wasn't the best for listening while driving today. It's a headphones record it seems, but I still love After The Ordeal and Moonlit Knight and Battle Of Eping Forest especially are classic. They have some very creative parts/melodies that I still love to hear.
I also think of The Geece And The Ghost whenever I think of early Genesis and some of the stuff on there is gorgeous as ####.
