English Settlement - never got into this one either but I did start to like it more the more I listen to it. Just not something I reach for with XTC except Senses Working Overtime which is definitely one of the best XTC songs ever.. weird period for them I think. Black Sea, this one and Mummer have a song that is seriously amazing that I love dearly and the rest is at least a lot more forgettable than that song. Respectable Street and Love On A Farmboys Wages are the songs on the other albums.

Louder Than Love - I should really give those first few Soundgarden albums a listen. I owned this one and Ultramega in the past (may have had Louder on cassette) but don't really remember much except like you, the dumb Big Dumb Sex

New Pornos - The Laws Have Changed is another great song! I think that is on their 2nd album. Anyways I kind of feel the same. I like their first few albums but only go back to a few songs here and there that I really like. Body Says No is a catchy one too

Experimental, Jet Set Trash No Star - Hey I like this one a lot! I guess I understand why you'd feel the way you do. It's streamlined kind of generic indie rock Sonic Youth, but I love how they are just a normal indie alt rock band here and they come up with nice short catchy rocking songs I think. And there's some of Kim's best melodies and singing on here I think! Bull In The Heather is great, and beaides Sweet Shine, I also like "Skink". Thurston has some cool catchy rockers like Screaming Skull. I dunno it sounds very much like a newer alt rock band from 1994 on an indie label and its pretty underrated to me because of how fun it is and a time capsule.
