Most folks probably start smoking or at least experimenting with weed around age 14 (I certainly did). But yeah, you hear lots of stories about hippie/druggie types getting their kids high when they're preteens or younger, especially in the music business. Pretty ####ed up for their brain development and almost guaranteeing that they'll wind up rebelling by becoming straightedge.
Not opposed to reading Kiedis's book but Flea's definitely seems more appealing.
