What gets me about the childlessness thing is, they *did* let these characters have sex and have kids, but then killed them anyway.
Indy had one wayward son who died childless, and soon he will die of old age. Han and Leia had one wayward son died childless, and they both die miserable deathes. Luke dies a pointless death, a childless (probable) virgin.
Who'd have guessed ten years ago that out of all these characters, Rick Deckard would end up with the happiest ending!
I don't have kids but it's weird to me that I'm apparently more sensitive to the existential bleakness of the death of someone's only child than the makers of Disney-owned family entertainment products.
