Seasons 6 and 7 showed minor signs of decline, but I thought the show was still very funny most of the time.

Season 8 is still considered very much part of the Golden Era. But when it first aired, I was shocked at how many terrible episodes there were:

My Sister My Sitter
The Secret Ware of Lisa Simpson
The Canine Mutiny
The Twisted World of Marge Simpson
The spin-off episode
The Mary Poppins episode
Moutain of Madness (maybe, need to give this one another try)
