The 57-years-later thing takes a bit to set in your mind, but otherwise I see no problem...Ridley's visuals have aged slightly better than Cameron's. There are 70s hair and clothes in the first film but it doesn't seem shot like a 70s film, the sequel LOOKS like an 80s movie.
